Born a Hidden Child: Hanneke Dye
22 June 2018 | 11am
Venue: The Octagon
Join local resident Hanneke Dye for a very personal and poignant talk as she recounts her beginnings in Nazi-occupied Holland and the help she received at that time from the local community which undoubtedly saved her life.
Hanneke was born to Jewish parents in 1943 with the help of a sympathetic midwife and doctor. She was initially hidden in a vacuum cleaner box for her safety and spent the first two years of her life in hiding until she was reunited with her parents after the end of the war.
The proceeds of this event will be split between the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and Grassington Festival.
This event is sold out. However, due to popular demand, we have added an additional performance on Thursday 28 June at 11am at The Octagon. Please click here.
