Venue: Festival in the Field Marquee
To be rock ‘n’ roll survivors is an achievement. To be Europe’s top live band, forty years after its inception is truly fantastic, but to still be enthusiastic, fresh, totally committed and in love with the music is a positive miracle.
Grassington Festival is proud to welcome the legendary Smokie to its Festival in the Field Marquee.
Originally hailing from Bradford, the band continues to play sell out tours around the globe and have sold over 25 million albums worldwide.
From their 1976 landmark ballad, Living Next Door to Alice (later re-released as Living Next Door to Alice (Who the F**K is Alice) in 1995 with Roy Chubby Brown) to chart-topping hits like If You Think You Know How to Love Me, Lay Back in the Arms of Someone as well as Oh Carol and I’ll Meet You at Midnight to name but a few, they continue to thrill old and new audiences alike and with platinum selling albums over the course of five decades, Smokie remain one of the most successful bands in the world today.
